One of the most unexpected things I have noticed about Santiago is the number of stray dogs that wander the streets. It's hard to walk a few blocks without seeing one. The first time a group of friends and I ran into one, we were surprised that it actually followed us for a good 30 minutes or so as we explored the city. It turns out that wasn't so unusual- since then many other dogs have done the same. Although this was a little scary at first, the dogs are generally friendly and keep their distance. Here are some pictures of the cuter dogs I've seen this week.
