One of my housemates is in charge of organizing educational workshops for groups of indigenous Mapuche-Pewenche weavers. Her work is specifically funded through a grant from a large Spanish-Italian electricity company called Endesa in attempts of appeasing some of the disruption they caused when they built a hydroelectric damn on indigenous lands in 2004.
The most recent event my housemate organized was a 2-day retreat in Biobio (closer to the Andes), which she was nice enough to invite me to. The event involved about 30 women, and was intended to help weavers from different neighborhoods get to know each other. Overall, I absolutely enjoyed having the opportunity to get to know them better. Enjoy the pics!

the roads winding up the Andes got a bit narrow and steep at a couple points so we had to get out and push!
