Tigre

Located about an hour´s drive outside of Buenos Aires, Tigre is one of the most interesting places I have visited so far. The city lies on the Paraná Delta and features a number of small islands. In addition to old abandoned boats that have been left behind for decoration, the river is lined with private muelles, or docks, that lead up to people´s homes. A number of people live on these islands and public transportation consists of ¨colectivo¨ boats, instead of buses.

I visited Tigre for the day with Gledy and Lily. Upon arrival, we spent a couple of hours exploring Puerto de Frutos, an artesanía marketplace. Then, we took a boat to a restaurant for lunch on one island and wrapped up the day with a nice stroll. Definitely worth visiting again!
